Marco Montali Named EurAI Fellow 2025

The Professor from the Faculty of Engineering was elected for his Pioneering Work in AI and Information Systems Engineering.

Prof. Marco Montali, vice-dean for Studies at the Faculty of Engineering and Full Professor in Computer Engineering, has been elected EurAI Fellow 2025, one of the most prestigious honours in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Europe. The recognition, awarded by the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI), is reserved for no more than 3% of AI researchers in Europe and celebrates individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field.

Prof. Montali received this distinction for his “Pioneering contributions at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and information systems engineering, advancing the foundations and real-world applications of business processes and AI-driven process science.”

This nomination not only honours Prof. Montali’s outstanding research achievements but also highlights the growing international visibility and impact of the research conducted at unibz, particularly in areas that bridge artificial intelligence, formal methods, and industrial applications.

Prof. Montali leads research efforts within the Faculty of Engineering, contributing to unibz’s strong positioning in AI-driven digital innovation and intelligent process automation. The official Fellowship certificate will be presented to Prof. Montali during the EurAI Fellows’ dinner at ECAI 2025, the leading European conference on Artificial Intelligence.
