Originally from Trentino, Cristian Roner was 44 years old and worked at the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Trento. After completing his studies in Trento, he pursued a PhD at the Faculty of Economics of unibz, where he is fondly remembered by faculty and peers alike.

His PhD supervisors, Professors Alessandro Fedele and Davide Ferrari, recall both his character and his passion for research: "We worked with Cristian on issues related to cybersecurity — a highly topical field that reflects his ability to approach relevant research themes. One of Cristian’s most remarkable qualities was his determination and strong work ethic, which enabled him to overcome the academic challenges he encountered steadily. His passing is a significant loss for his colleagues and the broader scientific community. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time."

The Faculty joins in mourning a valued member of its academic family and extends its deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved him.
