Why do we support policies that harm us?
A research team at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano explores how targeted strategies can increase public support for truly beneficial policies.

Citizens often oppose beneficial policies, especially in the environmental field, because it’s difficult to anticipate how collective behaviour will change once a good measure is introduced.
Researchers at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano explore the potential of so-called “priority policies”: strategies that reward those who are first to adopt virtuous behaviours, thereby increasing support for effective public measures.
The goal? To make public policies more understandable and accessible, helping political decision-makers communicate the meaning and impact of their choices more clearly.
