Materials and Devices for Smart Systems (MDSS) | Research Macro Area
The Materials and Devices for Smart Systems research macro area focuses on developing innovative solutions for a digital society.
By Matteo Vegetti
The macro area aims to bridge the gap between humans, the environment, and technology.
The main goal is to create sustainable systems with bespoke mechanical, electrical, optical and biological properties, based on biocompatible, recycled and organic materials, as well as equipping them with artificial intelligence.
These systems are then optimised for use in the automotive, mobility, healthcare, agriculture, construction, environmental monitoring and Industry 4.0 production sectors.
