A Challenge for unibz Students. Will you take the Leap?
Von Arturo Zilli

This is more than a contest. It’s a call to co-create the future of learning in Europe. The LEAP Sunrise Challenge is a unique opportunity for students across the SUNRISE network to shape the next generation of academic programmes in Europe.
The challenge invites students to design an innovative educational experience that addresses the pressing demands of the Triple Transition: environmental, social, and digital. Participants are asked to step into the role of Europe’s top pedagogical experts and develop a bold, interdisciplinary and inclusive learning programme at the bachelor, master or doctoral level. Creativity is the only limit.
Proposals may take the form of a learning module, a seasonal school, a hybrid or online course, or even a full academic programme. What matters is that each idea incorporates a mobility component—whether physical, virtual, or blended—that embraces interdisciplinarity, clearly describes at least two teaching methods, and is accessible to all SUNRISE students. Students will be required to submit a structured programme description, based on a provided template, and present their concept in a short pitch during the SUNRISE Summit, scheduled for September 2025.
The challenge encourages participants to address one of four key themes: Environmental Transition, Social Transition, Digital Transition, or the broader concept of Sustainability Transition. The most outstanding ideas will be awarded trophies and certificates, with additional prizes including an Interrail pass and recognition throughout the SUNRISE network.
Applications are open from April 1 to April 24, 2025. Students ready to leap into educational innovation can apply by filling out the official candidacy form.
