The university continues to attract a diverse student body, with the majority of the 102 exchange students coming from European countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Finland and Norway. However, unibz's global reach is also evident, as this semester includes students from Canada, Brazil, Taiwan and Israel, further enhancing the international atmosphere on campus.
The vast majority of these students, 85%, have come to unibz through the Erasmus+ program, demonstrating the university's strong integration into the European academic network. In addition, 5% are here through bilateral agreements with non-European institutions, while the remaining 10% have chosen unibz as Free Movers, enriching the campus with their independent academic pursuits.
unibz facilitates international exchanges through an extensive network of academic partnerships, boasting 170 Erasmus+ agreements, 30 bilateral agreements with non-European and Italian universities, and 5 agreements under the Swiss European Mobility Programme. These collaborations enable a steady flow of students both to and from unibz, fostering a truly global learning environment.
Prof. Marco Baratieri, Vice-Rector for Studies, gave the new students a warm welcome to unibz. “Studying abroad is not just about academics – it's about immersing yourself in a new environment, engaging with different people and cultures, and developing a broader, more inclusive perspective,” he told them. “In times when nationalism is on the rise, these experiences help create a new generation that values cooperation and thinks beyond borders,’ said Baratieri. During the welcome event, representatives of the university, including the International Relations team and a representative from the Language Centre, welcomed the new arrivals and introduced them to campus life.
unibz eagerly awaits the arrival of these talented and diverse students, ready to begin their educational journey in the heart of the Alps, as the summer semester begins.
